After Salzburg, we drove a couple hours to Melk, Austria.
Before we got there though, about 20 minutes from Salzburg we stopped at Mondsee Lake, the lake from The Sound of Music.
Melk it wasn’t a large city, and we didn’t spend the night here, we spent a few hours exploring and then we got on a boat for a river cruise down the Danube.
The most impressive sight in Melk was the Baroque Melk Abbey.
While we didn’t buy tickets for any tours, we were able to walk through the courtyards, and into the church.
Walking through the gardens we had an impressive view of the city.
After grabbing some lunch at Rathauskeller, we boarded the boat for our cruise.
The cruise was relaxing and a great way travel towards Vienna. The boat didn’t have a guide, and little information was given as to the sights we were seeing, but the scenery was gorgeous and the weather was nice, so I didn’t really care!
Our bus picked us in Dürnstein, and we drove on to Vienna, the last city of our trip!
